The book you NEED: Getting Stronger by Bill Pearl

This book is my personal BIBLE.

Whether you are just getting started with a weight training program, or simply seeking further information regarding specific excercises and form, this is the book for you. Beginner, intermediate, advanced–there is something for everyone here.

Sometimes in the gym, I notice that I am doing things even the personal trainers aren’t teaching. And, it never ceases to amaze me when I’m exploring programs at BodyBuilding.com or checking what Figure & Fitness Competitors are doing, that my personal program is already so solid, needing only minimal tweaking here and there. I gained that solid foundation almost exclusively from the incomparable Bill Pearl.

Bill Pearl is a bodybuilder from way back (50’s and 60’s) and former Mr. Universe (1971). He owned a gym for over 30 years, was a personal trainer for early NASA astronauts, and now he owns a nutrition store. He is truly one of the all-time greats in body building.

In Getting Stronger he discusses how muscles work, nutrition and supplements, including training nutrition for vegitarians. He outlines specific training programs for beginners, women, and people over 50, in addition to off-season programs for a wide variety of sports. Most importantly, the book provides photos and detailed instructions on hundreds of variations of weight excercises for each muscle group. For this reason, it truly is my BIBLE!

I do not steer you wrong when I tell you, if you are weight training or even considering it, you need this book.
