About

Hi!  Thanks for stopping in to check out my blog!  I’m Jenna Blake, a young-middle aged woman (not an oxymoron!) who is tranforming through fitness. I got started with a serious excercise program in November of 2008.  Within 1 week, I felt the impact.  Within 5 weeks, I lost 20 lbs.  and within a few months, I had transformed my body shape and added muscle definition all over.

After four kids and as many decades of living, I finally decided to get serious about taking care of myself.  I’ve seen endless examples of people who have transformed themselves–no matter their age, their circumstance, or their current fitness conditions.  They inspire me to want to kick myself into high gear and keep making progress.  People now tell me “You look great!” all the time.  And, some have begun to say that I inspire them.  That really feels good.  Most gratifying of all is my middle-school-aged daughter, who tells me now, more than ever, “Mom, you are my hero and my roll model.”

The intent of this blog is to share with you my journey and motivate you on your own journey toward change in life.  I am the “mom” in Mom is Buff.  While I have a special interest in encouraging mothers to get involved in strength training, the site is actually meant for everyone–particularly those of us who are getting involved in fitness programs in mid-life and beyond.  We are never too old, too fat, too out of shape to start down that road to progress.

Together, let’s get thinner, stronger, fitter, and HOTTER!!!  Are you in?  I hope so.  Oh, and even if you’re new and not convinced to take action just yet–stick around.  Cheer me on, listen up . . . and when you are ready, join right in!
